About the role Commonswood Primary & Nursery School in Welwyn Garden City are looking for 1 co‑opted governor to join our Governing Body. This is an important role with a great deal of impact. Although it is a voluntary role you will be part of a friendly and supportive team of governors who contribute greatly to the continued success of the school.

Governors are vital to the running of the school and they ensure that the school remains true to their vision and ethos, holds the headteacher to account in relation to the academic progress of the school and performance management of the staff team. Governors also oversee the finances of the school. It is an interesting, varied and valuable role. You will be fully trained and supported. Our meetings are held in the evenings and are currently a mixture of face to face and via MS Teams. There are seven meetings per year.
