Security Officer (Saturday Only) – Grade B
Salary: £28,598 – £33,699. This is a permanent position that requires a formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review.
Work schedule: 8 hours per week, Saturday only, part of rota including weekends and bank holidays, typically working early mornings or late evenings.
Role Overview
The Security Officer assists the Library of Birmingham in providing a service to the public, staff, and visitors, operating 24/7. Responsibilities include maintaining both physical and procedural security, acting as the main point of contact for day‑to‑day security issues, resolving issues and management requests in a timely manner, and using initiative to improve customer experience.
