Job Description
**Summary**
The **Security Police Officer** is an armed officer, who has successfully completed the required NASA training, with NASA Federal arrest authority and Federal Magistrate Training, whose primary duties may include but are not limited to: first response to emergencies; enforcing federal law and assimilated state law; conducting mobile patrols, inspections and searches; conducting traffic enforcement and traffic investigations; initiating an arrest and transporting persons; perform protective service work such as guarding NASA owned or leased buildings and property; protecting NASA equipment and material; controlling access to NASA installations by employees, visitors, and residents; and other duties as assigned. The SPO is armed with a side arm, shotgun, or other weapons as required.
