Job Description
The Department of Critical Care at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia seeks an intensivist to strengthen its team. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia and preferably hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
This opportunity is for a minimum of 0.5 FTE, with the ideal candidate holding dual certification in critical care and another specialty. In this role, you will oversee critically ill medical and surgical patients, participate in teaching responsibilities, and engage in multiple medical initiatives aimed at improving services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead patient care in the ICU which accommodates various critical conditions
• Share alternate 24-hour emergency call duties
• Guide and instruct medical students and rotating residents
• Initiate quality improvement projects in critical care
• Assist with outreach and telehealth for ICU follow-up
