About the role
Senior Litigation Lawyer – Surety and Trade Credit. Partner with Claims and Underwriting to manage complex disputes and protect Intact’s recovery position.
Responsibilities
- Join a specialized, high‑performing legal team within Intact's Legal Affairs.
- Manage volume of complex surety (bond claims) and trade credit (subrogation) files, developing risk‑based prioritization strategies.
- Analyze and structure matters involving securities (PPSA, movable hypothecs, assignment of receivables), secured creditors, subordination agreements and priority disputes.
- Represent Intact before all levels of court (Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Appeal, administrative tribunals) as well as in mediation and arbitration.
- Intervene in insolvency, restructuring or arrangement proceedings (CCAA/BIA), interfacing with trustees, monitors, secured creditors and financial institutions.
