Job Description
Overview
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is working on a new NMRC‑funded project titled Understanding mitochondrial metabolism and lipid homeostasis disruptions in α‑synuclein‑associated Parkinson’s disease. We are seeking a well‑trained Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to lead this project, which focuses on iPSC‑derived stem cells, CRISPR/Cas9 editing, and advanced molecular and cellular techniques to study neuronal and organoid models of Parkinson’s disease.
Responsibilities- Examine mitochondrial metabolism and lipid dynamics in PD‑related human dopaminergic neurons using a 3‑D ventral midbrain organoid model.
- Elucidate the mechanism underlying α‑syn‑mediated disruptions in mitochondrial/lipid homeostasis.
- Investigate whether modulation of key mitochondrial/lipid targets ameliorates α‑syn‑associated PD phenotypes in an α‑syn PFF mouse model.
- Oversee training and supervision of research assistants, as...
