JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Service Technician
Responsible To: Fleet Engineer/Workshop Manager/Chargehand Fitter/Master Technician
Main Purpose of Job: To maintain and repair the Company’s vehicles to a safe and roadworthy condition, employing such skills and knowledge as may be required with due regard to current employment and health and safety legislation.
Responsibilities & Duties: 1. Test vehicles and diagnose faults.
2. Observe, recognise and report on vehicle component defects or symptoms of impending failure.
3. Service, adjust and repair vehicles or components using the necessary equipment and tools in a proper and safe manner.
4. Examine vehicles completely and report orally and/or in writing upon the condition, roadworthiness and safety.
5. Requisition for replacement parts using Manufacturer’s part catalogue.
