Job Description
Planning: Use blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions to determine the quantity, size, shape, and location of reinforcing rods.
Preparing: Cut, bend and prepare rebar and mesh for installation using tools like metal shears, hacksaws, and torches.
Installing: Position and secure reinforcing rods, cables, mesh, or rebar in concrete forms using fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.
Hoisting: Organize the hoisting of components by connecting cables and slings to the components and directing crane operators.
Stressing: After placing post-tensioning systems, stress the tendons to predetermined specifications using hydraulic jacks and pumps.
Ensuring quality: Ensure the quality of the work performed and that the building has the proper reinforcement.
