Job Description

The Specialist Heavy Plant Technician will be responsible for the inspection, preparation, maintenance, and repair of heavy and specialist plant machinery. This is a varied, hands‑on role that includes PDI inspections, LOLER examinations, machine specification and commissioning, mobile breakdowns, and technical fault diagnosis across the Tru7 fleet.

This position suits a highly competent technician with strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently in a mobile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDI’s) on new and returning plant, ensuring all machinery is compliant, correctly specified, and fit for hire or site use.
  • Undertake LOLER examinations on applicable plant, attachments, and lifting equipment, ensuring statutory compliance and accurate certification.
