Job Description
Demonstrate appropriate application of knowledge in nursing practice:
- Performs intravenous line insertions, facilitates blood transfusions and chemotherapy.
- Renders comfort measures and symptomatic relief to patients such as giving tepid sponge baths, turning positions, backrubs, application of warm and cold compresses and oral care.
- Administers medications using the 10 Rights (right drugs, right patient, right dose to the right route, right time, right documentation, patient’s drug history, patients allergies, teach patients about the drug that he received, Drug to food interaction.)
- Operates or monitors medical equipments such as sphygmomanometer, cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators, glucometers, pulse oximeters, suction machines, nebulizers and Infusion pumps.
- Provides care for patients with tracheostomy tube and colostomy bags.
