Job Description
- Oversee daily steel fabrication and erection operations to make sure that approved designs and specifications are followed.
- Enforce all HSE regulations on work locations and hold toolbox talks every day.
- Assign tasks to welders, fitters, and foremen while keeping an eye on daily progress in relation to production goals.
- Organize joint fit-up and weld visual inspections in conjunction with QA/QC inspectors.
- Make sure that specifications and dimensional accuracy are continuously observed.
- Make sure the designated work areas are kept clean and equipped.
- Monitor daily staff attendance and handle requests for overtime.
Requirements:
- Technical certification or diploma; credentials as a welding inspector, such as CSWIP, are advantageous.
- At least five to eight years of experience working in a shipyard as a structural or steel supervisor.
