Supports and assists the Service Manager in providing 24-hour operations of the SPD service area. Meets or exceeds patient, physician, or other pertinent customer expectations. Assists in the selection, development and if required, corrective action of staff, in order to maintain competence and high-quality service or care. Develops, plans, implements and evaluates educational programs to meet the needs of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and to aide in the professional development of staff. Serves as a resource and consultant to managers and staff on educational issues in assigned departments and units.Meets or exceeds patient, physician, or other pertinent customer expectations.
