Sterile Services / Theatre Technician at Nelson Hospital – permanent, part‑time (0.6FTE). The role involves preparing and maintaining reusable instruments for operating theatres and other hospital departments while supporting nursing teams with patient transport, cleaning, and equipment provision.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clinical teams to meet equipment needs and ensure timely availability of sterilised items.
- Perform decontamination, inspection, packaging, and sterilisation of medical instruments and equipment according to hospital protocols and infection‑control standards.
- Conduct thorough checks on all sterilised items to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and readiness for use in patient care.
- Assist nursing teams with patient transportation, theatre cleaning, and equipment provision.
