Job Description
A structural formwork designer in the construction industry plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient design of temporary structures required for concrete placement. This role requires a strong foundation in structural engineering principles, proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla), and practical knowledge of construction methods and materials. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are also essential to succeed as a structural formwork designer.
- Design formwork systems (aluminium formwork and system formwork) to support concrete structures (slabs, beams, columns, walls, etc.) during construction.
- Ensure designs adhere to engineering principles, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Select appropriate materials (e.g., plywood, aluminium, steel) based on project specifications.
- Perform structural analysis to determine load capacities, deflection limits, and stability of formwork systems.
