How You’ll Support the Team
In this role, you will:
- Supervise the direction and day-to-day operation of the Plans Examination & Zoning Unit.
- Ensure that plans examination and zoning services are provided in an efficient and effective manner and ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other applicable legislation.
- Serve as the Deputy Chief Building Official for the City of Thunder Bay and act as the Chief Building Official in the absence of the Manager.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of legislation, regulations and by-laws governing building construction.
- Assist the Supervisor - Inspections with the administration of the City’s Backflow Prevention Program in accordance with the Waterworks By-law.
- Assist the Manager and Supervisor - Inspections with support for the Vacant and Dilapidated Building Program including the implementation, administration, and coordination of the program.
