Job Description
Duties
- Ensure proper placement, tracking and inventory control of all incoming and outgoing scrap materials
- Supervise scrap yard personnel to ensure the safe, efficient and compliant handling of all scrap materials entering and exiting the Yard
- Diagnose equipment breakdowns and implement appropriate corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Ensure proper operation and optimal utilization of equipment to prevent damage and reduce repair costs
- Maintain full accountability for the performance management of all Winnipeg Yard employees including training, scheduling, performance evaluations, payroll and disciplinary or corrective actions as required
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act & Regulations, Manitoba Employment Standards and all other applicable legislation
