Position Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Northumberland Sensory Support Service as a permanent, 0.8fte Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD). The successful candidate will work throughout the Northumberland area on a peripatetic basis, in a variety of settings including in the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct intervention teaching in a classroom, 1:1 or small group setting.
- Provide advisory, child‑centred practice, collaborating with other relevant professionals.
- Work under the umbrella of the Low Incidence Needs Team supporting children and young people aged 0‑25.
- Travel across Northumberland as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher of the Deaf or equivalent.
- Preferably at least 3years teaching experience.
- Experience working with students who have a hearing loss.
