Job Description
- Take care of a group of gas carrier ships (LNG/LPG) and keep them safe and ready to sail
- Plan repairs, maintenance and inspections so ships stay in good condition with no delays
- Track each ship's performance and costs using the company's maintenance and fleet software
- Organise and watch over dry-docking work, from planning to being there in person
- Pay close attention to cargo and gas-handling systems, making sure they are safe and working well
- Work with classification societies, port authorities and parts suppliers to sort out problems fast
- Check and approve orders for spare parts and supplies while keeping within budget
- Visit ships often to make sure they follow ISM, ISPS, MARPOL and IGC Code safety rules
- Look into faults, accidents and close calls, then put fixes in place to stop them happening again
