Your Opportunity
As a Recreation Therapy Assistant, you will work both independently and as part of an interprofessional team under the direction and supervision of a Recreation Therapist, other allied health professionals and nursing team. Your primary responsibility is to support the planning, facilitation, documentation, and evaluation of therapeutic recreation and leisure programs for older adults in supportive living or long-term care. You will support residents with dementia, complex health conditions, and other cognitive, emotional, or physical challenges, helping to promote engagement, social connection, and overall well‑being through person‑centered recreation interventions. Facilitate and adapt one‑to‑one, small group, and large group therapeutic recreation programs based on residents’ goals, abilities, and preferences.
