Traffic Management Specialist

Summary About the Position: The Incumbent will serve as the traffic management specialist in the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS) emergency operations center. Responsibilities Serve as shift lead as the emergency operations center during emergency situations and makes key decisions on actions to take. Research shipment statuses, recognize deviations in normal shipment procedures or activity, and initiate appropriate emergency response notification. Gather carrier performance data and populates carrier performance metrics tools maintained by the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS). Conduct studies to determine Command capabilities under various emergency situations. Provide training to new personnel on the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS). Communicate with State and Local authorities, and commercial carriers.
