Role Overview
We are looking for a Trainee Health Screener to work across our screening locations in Worcestershire, based in Worcester. This role involves working in diabetic eye screening, a process that tests for eye problems caused by diabetes to prevent sight loss. Pictures are taken of the back of the eye to identify any changes before sight is affected.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feel welcome and comfortable throughout the screening process.
- Undertake the screening checklist to maintain a safe environment for both staff and patients.
- Perform basic maintenance of the camera and related equipment to produce the best possible images.
- Safely administer eye drops to dilate pupils and take photographs ensuring the correct field of view.
- Identify patients who require urgent onward referral at the time of screening.
- Maintain adequate stock of consumables required to run the clinic.
