Job Overview
The role is based in the Outpatient Department at the Royal site, rotating across plaster rooms at Royal, Broadgreen and Aintree Hospitals to achieve a registered BOA plaster technician qualification. The holder will also work as an Assistant Practitioner/HCA in clinics, maintaining clinical skills and supporting service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical and therapeutic care within established protocols and scope of HCA/Assistant Practitioner/Plaster Technician.
- Apply, modify and remove a wide range of casts for the Emergency Department, inpatients and outpatients.
- Provide wound care awareness and report safeguarding issues.
- Support junior staff and doctors, raising concerns to line manager.
- Contribute to care planning and MDT within the department.
- After completing BOA casting course, work as band 5 registered professional and supervise/teach junior staff.
