Trainee Sterilisation Technician

Job Summary
Assist a team of Sterilisation Technicians in the efficient processing and preparation of contaminated re‑useable surgical instruments for operating theatres, wards and clinics. The role includes reprocessing of endoscopes in the endoscopy SSD and general housekeeping, stock control and record‑keeping duties.
Main Duties
- Reprocess contaminated re‑usable surgical instrumentation for use in hospital theatres, wards and clinics.
- Reprocess flexible endoscopes in the endoscopy sterile service department.
- Maintain stock control, housekeeping and record‑keeping activities.
- Rotate across all five sterile service departments to acquire knowledge of all clinical and ward equipment.
- Adhere to Trust Policies, Procedures and the Sterile Services Department Decontamination Training Programme.
