Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The post holder will work as an integral member of the laboratory team to help deliver a high quality laboratory service contributing to efficient and effective patient care.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake routine laboratory investigations within the assigned department.
  • Interpret, validate, and report laboratory results accurately and promptly.
  • Communicate abnormal or critical results to clinicians and GPs in a timely manner.
  • Perform quality control procedures and take corrective action when required.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of laboratory analysers and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and assay issues, escalating to suppliers or senior staff where necessary.
  • Participate in laboratory method validation and instrument evaluations.
  • Support research and development activities within the department.
  • Rotate across different laboratory sections as required.<...
