Transnet is hiring General Workers in 2025 to support port, rail and depot operations across the Western Cape. No prior experience is required; comprehensive training will be offered.
Key Facilities Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) in Cape Town – cargo handling at a major port. Saldanha Bay Terminal – iron ore and bulk cargo exports. Bellville Rail Depot – freight rail operations. Paarl Container Facilities – regional cargo handling. Common Positions General Worker (Freight Rail) Assists in loading/unloading cargo, track maintenance and yard operations in Bellville or Cape Town depots. Key Tasks: handle materials, clean work areas, support equipment checks. Career Path: advance to track maintainer or logistics assistant.
