Job Summary
Transports patients throughout the hospital in a timely, safe and efficient manner. Communicates with the dispatcher on runs,
delays, etc. Maintains transportation equipment and completes department records and transportation forms.
Essential Functions
+ Transports patients to their tests and procedures in a safe and timely manner.
+ Collaborates with the nursing staff, ancillary departments, the patient, and other health care providers in providing quality patient care.
+ Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.
+ Completes departmental records and transport forms.
+ Meets the department’s standard of 18+ (18-24) runs in an 8-hr. shift.
+ Returns equipment to their appropriate locations. (i.e. wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen tanks).
+ Demonstrates safe and appropriate use of equipment.
+ Maintains patient confidentiality.
