Job Summary:
The Triage Center Nurse will function out of the Triage Center providing critical and timely assessments of injuries and illnesses and successfully guiding patients and/ or callers to the correct disposition for care. In an effort to provide complete customer satisfaction, the nurse should accurately listen and respond appropriately to requests made by callers, patients, physicians, medical director,s and peers. The Triage Nurse Specialist should give high priority to customer service and complete customer satisfaction. The nurse must be able to adjust through a rapidly changing environment. The nurse will manage multiple phones lines and responsibilities including requests for nurse triage from contracts, patients, employees and the general public. This also includes transition follow up phone calls to patients that are discharged from the Upstate University Hospital Health System.
