It was established in 2018 through a joint venture between Rakuten and Bic Camera, and operates as a storefront on Rakuten Ichiba. By leveraging the strengths of both companies, the service aims to provide a highly convenient shopping experience that transcends the boundaries between online and offline channels.
Rakuten Bic handles a wide range of operations, including marketing for Rakuten Ichiba and the operation of the e-commerce marketplace store. Furthermore, the team implements O2O (Online-to-Offline) initiatives to drive traffic to physical stores for customers who prefer to see large appliances in person before purchasing.
