Summary
Ultrasound Technologist performs highly skilled technical work in diagnostic ultrasound using complex equipment for specialized and/or technically difficult examinations.
Responsibilities
Scans patients and maintains all safety precautions while administering treatments in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patient. Acquires pertinent clinical information from patient's chart and/or computer and maintains safety standards particular to the age-specific needs of the patient. Develops films when Medical Surgical Technologist is not available. Records complete procedure in computer (HIS System) and records it on the daily log along with the technician's initials. Brings patient in and out of examination room. Transports patients to different areas of the x-ray department, when needed. Performs portable exam. Performs or aids radiologist in O.R. cases.
