The Archaeology Data Service (ADS) provides digital data archiving services for UK archaeology. It is based in the University of York but works closely with external partners, both in Higher Education and in the public and commercial archaeological sectors. All archived data is available Open Access and ADS funding is equally split between data deposit charges and research and consultancy, including a number of international projects. The ADS also manages the highly regarded Open Access journal, Internet Archaeology. Currently around 15 staff are employed.
