The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the weapons safety manager and advisor to the Commander, senior leaders, and field safety staff on weapons safety matters. Represents AFMC and manages explosive safety, missile safety, and directed energy safety programs and provides oversight of the nuclear surety program as a part of the overall weapons safety program. Responsibilities Manages and develops effective command-wide explosives, weapons, missiles, nuclear, and Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) programs in connection with AFMC installations, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and contractor operations, including the application of explosives safety criteria and requirements as an integral part of the mission.
